During an awards ceremony at its 69th annual meeting in Orlando, FL, The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) presented APAC-Alabama with a 2023 Quality in Construction (QIC) Award for excellence in construction of asphalt pavement.

“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning a Quality in Construction award are measured against best practices designed to live up to that commitment,” said 2023 NAPA Chair Christian Zimmermann. “Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that APAC-Alabama has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”

APAC-Alabama won the 2023 QIC award for its work on SR 53 in Houston County. For the southern portion of the project, crews milled the road 1.5 inches, installed two feet of safety widening and then added a 1.5-inch asphalt overlay. On the northern side, to ensure the road matched the existing grade after the overlay was installed, APAC-Alabama crews milled the road twice and added a leveling layer. The company incorporated into the project mixes reclaimed asphalt pavement from the milling work, a sustainable paving practice that conserves virgin materials and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The result is a smoother, high-quality asphalt road.

Congratulations to the APAC-Alabama team for demonstrating operational excellence and safety, and for successfully and consistently delivering high-quality work for our valued clients.
